Crispy Air-Fryer Barbecue Chicken Strips

Crispy and delicious chicken strips with a tasty barbecue flavor cooked in the air-fryer. Cooking these chicken strips in the air-fryer makes them so much more crispy then in the oven. And it takes less time to cook. The chicken comes out juicy and the breading is crispy. Serve these chicken strips with a side of ketchup, ranch, or more barbecue sauce to dip.

The only four ingredients that you need for these easy chicken strips is chicken, an egg, barbecue sauce, and dry breadcrumbs. The chicken is first sliced into strips. Mix the egg and barbecue sauce together in a shallow dish. Place the breadcrumbs into another dish. First coat each chicken strip into the barbecue sauce mixture, then fully coat into the breadcrumbs, covering it fully. Air-fry the chicken strips in batches until the chicken is fully cooked through and the breading is crispy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken, sliced into strips
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air-fryer to 400 F. In a shallow dish, combine egg and barbecue sauce. Place the breadcrumbs into another shallow dish.
  • Fully coat each chicken strip into the barbecue sauce mixture, then fully coat each strip into the breadcrumbs. Air-fry in batches for 10-12 minutes.
