The sauce for the pasta, is made like a classic mac and cheese sauce, except for the addition of shredded parmesan cheese, and frozen spinach. The creamy spinach cheese sauce is mixed with cooked penne pasta and served.
Creamy Spinach Parmesan Pasta
Ingredients
- 16 oz. penne pasta
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup frozen spinach, cooked
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, add in flour, and cook for a minute to brown.
- Add in milk, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook until the sauce has fully thickened and the cheese has melted. Stir in cooked spinach. Mix sauce with pasta.
