Creamy and cheesy mac and cheese with a delicious creamy and cheesy cheese sauce with mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan cheese. And seasoned with dried parsley. Everyone will love this easy creamy Italian style mac and cheese for a easy side dish or main meal.

The cheese sauce is made by melting butter in a large saucepan and cooking flour until it is lightly browned. Pour in the milk, grated parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and seasonings. Cook the cheese sauce until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce has thickened. Mix with the cooked pasta and serve.

Creamy Italian Mac and Cheese

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. elbow pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and place into a large bowl. Melt the butter into a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook flour until it is browned.
  • Add in the milk, grated parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper, and dried parsley. Cook until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce has thickened. Mix the sauce with the pasta.
