Cream Cheese Cookie Bars

Soft and chewy sugar cookie bars made with cream cheese. The cream cheese makes these easy cookie bars more soft and fluffy. Everyone will love these easy cookie bars for any occasion. They are filled with tons of delicious cream cheese flavor with a soft and fluffy texture.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except with cream cheese mixed with the butter, and baking powder used instead of baking soda. The cookie dough is pressed evenly into a greased square baking dish. Bake until the center of the cookie bars comes out clean with a toothpick. Let the cookie bars cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Cream Cheese Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. In a large bowl, combine butter with cream cheese and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
