Cinnamon Christmas Biscuits

Sweet flaky homemade biscuits that are perfect for the Christmas season. They are filled with cinnamon and sugar, and cut out using your favorite Christmas cookie cutters. You can make them into gingerbread men biscuits, or into Christmas trees. These biscuits are great served for Christmas breakfast or Brunch or any day during the holiday season. Serve warm with jelly and honey along with your favorite Christmas breakfast dishes.

To make these homemade biscuits, flour is mixed with sugar, salt, baking powder, and ground cinnamon. Cut cold cubed butter into the mixture using either a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembled cornmeal. Pour in milk and mix until a dough forms. Pat dough out onto a floured surface and fold it over a couple of times using a dough scraper. Pat dough out into a rectangle, and cut out biscuits using Christmas-themed cookie cutters. Place the biscuits onto a large greased baking sheet. Bake until the tops are lightly golden brown.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Cut butter into the mixture using a pastry blender until crumbly. Pour in milk, mix until a dough forms. Pat dough out onto a floured surface. Pat into a rectangle.
  • Cut out biscuits using Christmas cookie cutters. Place onto a large greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.
