Chewy and moist chocolate cake made with coca cola. This chocolate cake is one of my favorite cakes, it has a soft and moist texture that tastes like brownies. It is sweet with tons of chocolate flavor and the flavor of the coca cola is not too overpowering. With a sweet coca cola frosting covering all over the cake. This cake makes a great summer dessert, and eaten cold from the refrigerator.

This chocolate cake is prepared a little different from other cakes. Instead of butter being creamed with the sugar, it is melted with the soda and cocoa powder. And mixed with the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms. There is no need to use a mixer for this cake, just a whisk will work. Pour the cake batter into a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake until the center comes out clean. While the cake is baking, make the frosting. To make the coca cola frosting, place coca cola into a saucepan over medium heat. Let the soda cook until it starts to boil, then stir in butter and let it melt. Along with cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Add the powdered sugar in 1 cup at a time, until the frosting is smooth. When the cake comes out of the oven, poke holes into the cake with a fork. pour the frosting all over the cake and let it set. Keep the cake refrigerated until serving.
