Chocolate cobbler is a traditional southern dessert that is easy and simple to make without a whole lot of ingredients. Creamy chocolate cobbler is a mix of a soft chewy brownie and a creamy hot fudge sauce. This dessert is one of my favorite easy desserts to make for a quick chocolate treat. This creamy chocolate cobbler is best served warm with a serving of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Great for a delicious summer dessert.
Not a lot of baking ingredients are needed to make this, just flour, sugar and cocoa powder. For the chocolate batter, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, melted butter, milk and vanilla extract are mixed together. Spread the chocolate batter into the bottom of a greased 8 inch baking dish. For the chocolate brown sugar topping, in a small bowl combine brown sugar with cocoa powder and sprinkle it over the chocolate batter, but do not stir the mixture. Pour boiling water in the baking dish over the batter without stirring together. Bake until most of the liquid is absorbed. Let cool slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
