Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

Delicious chocolate fudge brownies topped with an edible chocolate chip cookie dough makes these brownies sweet and delicious. A classic brownie is baked and then it is topped off with edible cookie dough that is made to eat by not using eggs and heating the flour. These brownies are great for Christmas baking this year with your family. Or whenever you want a sweet treat.

For the brownie layer, you can either make the batter yourself, or you could also use a premade mix of brownies instead. Bake the brownies according to package directions, let cool completely before adding on the cookie dough layer. To make the edible chocolate chip cookie dough layer, softened butter is beat with both granulated and brown sugar. milk and vanilla extract are added until smooth. Heated flour is then added to the mixture and beat until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips and spread the cookie dough evenly over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate until set. Cut into squares and serve.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Add in eggs, melted butter, melted chocolate and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth. Spread brownie batter into a greased baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Place flour into a microwave safe bowl, heat in the microwave for 40 seconds, set aside. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in milk and vanilla extract, beat until smooth. Add in the heated flour, beat until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • When cooled, spread cookie dough over brownie layer and refrigerate until set. Cut into squares.
