Soft and chewy classic chocolate chip cookies made into bar form. These easy chewy cookie bars are filled with chocolate chips, and baked in baking dish instead of traditional cookies. Cookie bars are easy to make, because there is no need to chill the cookie dough, or roll them into bars. They are also perfect for serving a group of people. These easy chocolate chip cookie bars make the perfect dessert for just about any occasion.

The cookie dough for these cookies is made with a classic chewy chocolate chip cookie dough. The cookie dough is then pressed into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake the cookie bars until the center of the bars comes out clean with a toothpick. Let them cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both granulated and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until it is smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until the flour is fully combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips. Press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
