Chewy double chocolate cookies with a chocolate hershey kiss on top. These delicious cookies are full of chocolate, perfect for the holiday baking season. The cookie dough is made chocolate with cocoa powder. After the cookies have baked a chocolate kiss is placed in the center of each cookie. Making these cookies a sweet and delicious chocolate treat to enjoy anytime of the year. Make these cookies for a sweet Christmas treat to enjoy this year.

The cookie dough is made by creaming butter and sugar together with a mixer until it is light and fluffy. Egg and vanilla extract is added into the mixture until smooth. A mixture of flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda are added to the butter mixture and mixed until all of the flour is incorporated. Refrigerate the cookie dough for at least one hour before baking. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. As soon as you remove the cookies from the oven, place one chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Let the cookies cool completely over a wire rack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • chocolate hershey kisses

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. In a large bowl using a mixer, beat softened butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, beating until smooth. Add the flour mixture in three separate additions, beating after each until all of the dry ingredients are fully incorporated. Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll cookie dough into balls and place 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and place one chocolate kiss on each cookie.
