Soft and chewy classic brown sugar cookies, topped with heart shaped chocolates. These easy tasty cookies are perfect for a quick and easy Valentine’s day treat. Everyone will love the sweet brown sugar flavor in these cookies, combined with the chocolate on top.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except that instead of using granulated sugar, brown sugar is used. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Place one heart chocolate on each cookie and let cool completely before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • heart chocolates

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with brown sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven, and place one heart chocolate on each cookie.
