Soft and chewy sugar cookies, made with brown sugar. These easy cookies uses brown sugar instead of granulated sugar. Giving them a delicious brown sugar flavor all throughout these cookies. They are perfect to bake for any holiday or occasion. Everyone will love the brown sugar flavor and soft and chewy texture of the cookies.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except that instead of granulated sugar, brown sugar is used. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with brown sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
