Basketball Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2-3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-4 tablespoons milk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased round 9-inch cake pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting.
- For the buttercream frosting, in a large mixing bowl, combine butter with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until it is fully combined. Add in the food coloring, and mix until it is fully orange.
- Frost cooled cookie cake, and decorate with the Reese's pieces to look like a basketball.
