Apple Hand Pies

Quick and easy apple pie made into an easy hand pie that everyone will love. It has all of the classic flavors of apple pie with cinnamon and brown sugar. You only need five simple ingredients to make these mini pies. It is so much fun for everyone to get their own mini pie pocket. There is no need to slice the pie with these hand pies, because everyone can get their own.

To make the filling for these mini pies, diced apples are mixed with granulated and brown sugar along with ground cinnamon. For the pie crust, you can either make it yourself, or you can use a premade frozen pie crust to save on time. Roll the pie crust out on a floured surface. Cut out circles with a cookie cutter and place half of them onto a greased baking sheet. Evenly divide the apple pie filling over the circles, and place the remaining circles on top. Seal tightly with a fork and bake until the tops are lightly golden brown.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pie crusts
  • 2 large apples, diced
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, combine diced apples with both sugars and cinnamon.
  • Roll pie crusts out on a floured surface. Cut out circles with cookie cutters. Place half of the pie dough circles onto a large greased baking sheet. Top with the apple pie filling. Place the remaining dough circles over the fillings. Seal with a fork. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
