The dough to make these mini pretzel dogs is made with a soft yeast dough. You can also use premade pizza dough instead if you are short on time. The dough is wrapped around bite sized hot dogs. And boiled in a mixture of water and baking soda. Once they are done, air-fry them in batches in the air-fryer until the hot dogs are fully cooked through, and the pretzel dough is lightly browned and crispy.
Air-Fryer Mini Pretzel Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup baking soda

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth.
- Place dough into a large greased bowl, cover and let rise for 1-2 hours.
- Deflate dough and divide into small pieces. Cut hot dogs into fourths.
- Roll each piece of dough into a thin log and wrap around each mini hot dog. Place water and baking soda in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
- Cook pretzel dogs in batches for 20 seconds per batch. Preheat air-fryer to 400 F. Air-fry in batches for 8-10 minutes.
