Easy and sweet cinnamon muffins topped with a delicious buttery cinnamon and sugar mixture. They taste just like a cinnamon and sugar coated donut. But are much easier to make, and there is no need to fry to enjoy all of the tastes of your favorite donut. They taste great served for breakfast, brunch or even as a dessert.
The batter for these delicious muffins are so quick and easy to make, you only need one mixing bowl and a whisk. Whisk all of the ingredients together until a smooth batter forms. Divide it into greased muffin cups and bake until they come clean in the center. For the cinnamon sugar topping, place melted butter in one bowl, and combine sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. First dip each muffin top into the melted butter, then coat the top with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add in egg, milk, and melted butter. Whisk until smooth. Evenly divide batter between 12 greased muffin cups.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Place melted butter n a small bowl, whisk together sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. Dip each muffin top into the melted butter, then into the cinnamon and sugar.
