Cheesy baked spaghetti with chicken all covered in a creamy cheese sauce. This spaghetti casserole is a delicious break from the traditional spaghetti dinner. The spaghetti is mixed with a creamy cheese sauce that is similar to making a cheese sauce for mac and cheese. mixed with cooked chicken and covered with more shredded cheddar cheese. And baked until the cheese is melted. Serve with some garlic bread or a side salad for a delicious dinner.

To make the cheese sauce for the casserole, butter is melted in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook garlic in the butter for a minute until fragrant. Add in flour and cook for another minute to brown. Pour in milk, chicken broth and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt, pepper and dried oregano. Cook the sauce until the cheese has fully melted and is smooth. Mix the cheese sauce with cooked spaghetti pasta and cooked chicken. Spread the mixture out into a casserole dish and top with the remaining half of the shredded cheese. Bake until the cheese has fully melted.

Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound spaghetti pasta
  • 1 pound chicken, cooked and diced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and place into a large bowl. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, cook minced garlic until fragrant. Add in flour and cook for a minute to brown.
  • Pour in milk and chicken broth. Season with salt, pepper and dried oregano. Add in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Continue to cook over medium heat, while whisking constantly until smooth and thickened.
  • Mix the spaghetti with the cooked and diced chicken and the cheese sauce. Spread the mixture out into a large greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 25-30 minutes.
