Cheesy Creamed Spinach Casserole

Cheesy and creamy spinach casserole topped with cheddar cheese and french fried onions. This casserole will make the perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas side dish to go along with the big dinner. Cream cheese and cream of mushroom soup are used to make this casserole creamy. Only 5 ingredients are needed to make this easy side dish. And it can even be prepared ahead of time to save time on Thanksgiving morning.

Frozen spinach will first need to prepared according to the package directions and drained. Combine the thawed and drained spinach with softened cream cheese, a can of cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 container of french fried onions in a round baking dish. At this point you can cover the casserole with foil and refrigerate it overnight or until you need it. Before baking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top along with the remaining french fried onions. Bake until the cheese has melted and the fried onions are crispy.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ( 10 oz.) packages frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 1 ( 8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ( 14 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 container french fried onions, divided

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Thaw and drain spinach according to package directions. Mix spinach with softened cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 can of french fried onions together in a greased 9-inch round baking dish.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Top with the remaining french fried onions. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
