While turkey is the main meal for Thanksgiving, it needs the perfect gravy to accompany it. This homemade turkey gravy is creamy and delicious. It is great served over juicy turkey or even over mashed potatoes. The gravy uses only three ingredients and uses the leftover turkey drippings from cooking the turkey. It is so quick and easy to make this gravy, you can have it ready in less than 10 minutes. Serve warm over turkey or mashed potatoes for a delicious Thanksgiving meal.

You can make this easy gravy after you have roasting the turkey so that you can use the leftover drippings from the pan. Measure out 2 cups of the drippings from the pan and pour that into a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk it together until a thick dough starts to form. Pour in chicken broth and let the gravy continue to cook while whisking constantly until the gravy is smooth and thickened.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups turkey drippings
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, pour in turkey drippings. Add in flour and whisk until a thick roux forms. Pour in chicken broth and continue to whisk over medium heat until smooth and thickened.

We add Soy Sauce to turkey gravy, to give a darker hue and add sodium. Our rule of thumb is there is no such thing as too much gravy!!
