An easy and classic comfort food meal, meatloaf is the perfect fall comfort food meal. For this meatloaf, is full of crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese mixed right into the meatloaf. All topped off with a classic sweet ketchup and brown sugar glaze. Serve this tasty meatloaf with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables for a easy comfort food meal.

The meatloaf mixture is made by combining ground beef with breadcrumbs, seasonings, ketchup, mustard, milk, an egg, crumbled bacon and shredded cheese. Form this meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it into a greased loaf pan. To make the sweet ketchup and brown sugar glaze, ketchup, brown sugar and mustard are all mixed together in a small bowl. Evenly spread the brown sugar glaze over the meatloaf. The meatloaf is cooked slow in the oven resulting a juicy meatloaf. Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour and 15 minutes- 1 hour and 30 minutes. When the meatloaf is done it should no longer be pink in the center. Let the meatloaf sit in the pan for a couple of minutes before slicing into slices.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine ground beef with breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, ketchup, mustard, milk, egg, cooked and crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf and place into a greased loaf pan. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Evenly spread ketchup brown sugar mixture over meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes- 1 hour and 30 minutes.
