Easy buttercream truffles for Christmas. They are covered in melted chocolate chips that is made green with food coloring. Each truffle is also topped off with a mini heart shaped sprinkle. They make the perfect easy Grinch themed dessert this year.
The truffles are made by mixing butter with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until a thick dough forms. Roll the mixture into balls and set onto a plate. Freeze them while the chocolate melts. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until it is fully melted and smooth. Stir in the food coloring. Coat each truffle in the chocolate and set onto a plate. Decorate with sprinkles and let sit until it is completely set.
Grinch Buttercream Truffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2-3 cups powdered sugar
- 12 oz. white chocolate chips
- green food coloring
- heart shaped sprinkles
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix butter with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until a thick dough forms. Roll the mixture into balls and set onto a plate. Place chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well until fully melted and smooth. Stir in the food coloring.
- Coat each truffle in the chocolate and set onto a plate. Top with sprinkles and let sit until it is completely set.
