Red, White and Blue Blondies

Soft and chewy homemade blondie bars made perfect for the Fourth of July. They are made red, white and blue with red and blue food coloring. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the bars and the delicious brown sugar flavors.

The batter is made like a classic blondie batter, then it is divided into three bowls, leave one white, add red food coloring to one bowl, and blue to another. Add each batter into a square baking dish. Swirl together with a knife and bake until the center comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • red and blue food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter with brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add in the flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  • Divide the mixture into three bowls, make one red and one blue. Add each color to a greased 8-inch square cake pan. Swirl with a knife. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
