The cookie dough is quick and easy to make, to make it safe to eat, the flour is heated in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Mix the flour with butter, sugar and vanilla extract until a thick dough forms. Divide the dough into three bowls, and make one blue and one red. Take a small amount of cookie dough from each bowl and roll together into balls. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until it is fully melted and smooth. Coat each cookie dough truffle in the chocolate and set onto a plate. Let sit until it is completely set.
Red, White and Blue Cookie Dough Truffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, heated in the microwave
- red and blue food coloring
- 12 oz. white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Place the flour into a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in the microwave for 40 seconds. In a large bowl, mix butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Add in the heated flour and mix until a thick dough forms. Divide the cookie dough into three bowls, and mix one with blue food coloring and one with red food coloring.
- Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well until it is fully melted and smooth.
- Coat each cookie dough truffle in the chocolate and set onto a plate. Let sit until it is completely set.
