Sour cream and onion dip is a favorite to dip potato chips into. This dip is so quick and simple to make, and tastes such better than the premade version. Sour cream and carmelized onions are combined to create this tasty snack. This dip is perfect for dipping with potato chips, or it would taste great to dip with sliced vegetables as well. It is creamy with a carmelized onion taste. You can keep this dip refrigerated for up to week in an air tight container for whenever you want a quick snack.
To make the carmelized onions, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. You want the onions to cook on slow on low heat, ensuring that they wont burn or get crispy. Add the onions to the skillet and let them cook until they are carmelized, about 15-20 minutes. Mix the onions with sour cream along with worcestershire sauce and garlic powder to season the dip. Refrigerate the dip for at least one hour, or until you are ready to serve it.
