This homemade maple syrup is made by boiling water, granulated sugar and brown sugar together in a saucepan. Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat. Stir in maple extract to give the syrup the traditional maple flavoring. If you do not have any maple extract, you can still flavor this syrup with any other flavored extracts that you have. It will not have a maple syrup flavor, but it will still taste delicious on top of pancakes.
