Flag Sheet Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ingredients for Buttercream Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • fresh strawberries, halved
  • fresh blueberries

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add in milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Pour batter into a greased baking dish. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Beat butter with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Evenly spread frosting over cooled cake. Arrange strawberries and blueberries in a flag pattern over cake. Refrigerate until serving.
