Valentine’s Day Shortbread Cookies

Easy classic buttery shortbread cookies made pink with food coloring. Everyone will love the classic buttery flavor and crisp texture of the shortbread cookie, but with a fun pink twist. They make the perfect easy treat to bake this Valentine’s day.

The cookie dough is made like a classic shortbread cookie dough, except for the addition of the pink food coloring. Roll the cookie dough into balls and flatten slightly. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet and bake until the bottoms are lightly browned.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pink food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix together butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add in flour and vanilla extract until combined. Add in the food coloring.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls and flatten slightly. Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
