The cookie dough is made just like a classic snickerdoodle cookie, and baked as usual. Once they are out of the oven, place one chocolate heart on each cookie. Let cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.
Snickerdoodle Heart Blossom Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and roll each one into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven, and place one heart chocolate on each cookie.
