Easy homemade toffee candy using Ritz crackers and a delicious homemade caramel sauce. All topped with melted chocolate. Everyone will love this easy sweet and salty candy for any holiday or occasion.
The crackers are first placed in a baking dish in a single layer. To make the caramel sauce, melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add in brown sugar and vanilla and let boil for a couple of minutes. Remove the mixture from the stove, and pour over the crackers. Bake for just a couple of minutes, until it is bubbling. Add chocolate chips to the top and bake for a few more minutes, spread the chocolate onto the mixture. Let sit until it is completely set.
Ritz Cracker Toffee
Ingredients
- Ritz crackers
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lay ritz crackers in a single layer into a baking dish. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add in brown sugar and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil, and let boil for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the mixture over the Ritz crackers. Bake for 3-5 minutes. Remove from the oven, and top with chocolate chips. Bake for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread the chocolate over the crackers. Let sit until it is completely set.
