Red, White and Blue White Chocolate Chip Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy snickerdoodle cookies made red, white and blue with food coloring. The cookies are also filled with white chocolate chips. Everyone will love the delicious classic snickerdoodle flavors along with the delicious white chocolate flavors.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except that they are divided into three bowls, and one is made red with food coloring and another is mixed with blue food coloring. Mix chocolate chips into each cookie dough, and take a small amount of dough from each. Roll together into balls and roll each one into a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red and blue food coloring
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Evenly divide the cookie dough into three bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue to another. Mix 1/3 chocolate chips into each bowl.
  • In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Take a small amount of cookie dough from each dough and roll into balls. Roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
