The cookie dough is made just like a classic peanut butter cookie dough, except that each cookie dough ball is rolled in either red, white or blue sanding sugar. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.
Red, White and Blue Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup white sanding sugar
- 1/2 cup red sanding sugar
- 1/2 cup blue sanding sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix butter with peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Place each sanding sugar in a shallow dish. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each one in one of the sugars.
- Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
