The brownies are a classic chewy fudge brownies, they are baked before the chocolate and peppermint are added onto them. The brownies will need to be cooled down completely before adding the chocolate. The chocolate is melted in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the cooled brownies. Then sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy on top. Let the chocolate sit until the chocolate has fully set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, melted chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Whisk in flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread the brownie mixture out into a large greased baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely. Melt chocolate until fully melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the brownies. Sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candy. Let set until the chocolate has fully set.
