The classic peanut butter cookie dough is simple to make. The cookie dough creates a soft and chewy cookie, but if you are short on time you can also use a premade peanut butter cookie dough for this recipe. The cookie is chilled in the refrigerator before baking, making sure that the cookies do not spread out too much when baking. After the cookies are baked, before they have cooled, press one chocolate kiss into each cookie. Remove the cookies to a wire rack to let cool completely.

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate hearshy kisses

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda. In a large bowl using either a hand or stand mixer, beat softened butter with peanut butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, beat until smooth. Add the flour mixture in two additions, beating after each until fully incorporated. Cover and refrigerate dough for at least one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll cookie dough into balls and place 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and place one chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Let cool.
