Classic chewy chocolate chip cookies made with purple, green and yellow food colors for Mardi Gra. Everyone will love the classic chewy texture and flavor of the chocolate chip cookies. They make the perfect easy treat to bake for a fun Mardi gra treat.

The cookie dough is made like a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, except for it is divided between three bowls, one is mixed with purple food coloring, one with yellow and one with green. Fold chocolate chips into each cookie dough. Take a small amount of each dough and roll together into balls. Place cookies onto a large ugreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Mardi Gra Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, divided
  • purple, yellow and green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined.
  • Divide the dough into three bowls, and mix one with purple food coloring, one with yellow and one with green. Fold 1/3 cup chocolate chips into each cookie dough. Take a small amount of each dough and roll together into balls. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
