The cookie dough is made by mixing a box of lemon cake mix with eggs and vegetable oil until smooth. Then fold in the chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each one into a dish of red, white or blue sanding sugar. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

- 1 ( 15 oz.) box lemon cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- red, white and blue sanding sugars
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix cake mix with eggs and vegetable oil until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips. Place each sanding sugar into a shallow dish.
- Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each one into a dish of sanding sugar. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
