Homemade KFC Gravy

This quick and easy homemade gravy that tastes just like KFC gravy. This homemade gravy is smooth and delicious served over mashed potatoes, fried chicken or anything else that you can serve with gravy. This gravy would even be great served at Thanksgiving or Christmas to go alongside the turkey and mashed potatoes.

To make this homemade gravy, olive oil and butter and heated together in a saucepan together until the butter has melted. Add in flour and whisk until lightly browned. Pour in beef broth and add in seasonings. Continue to cook for another few minutes, until thickened. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add in flour and cook for a minute to brown. Pour in beef broth and add in salt, pepper, onion powder, and oregano.
  • Continue to cook over medium heat, while whisking constantly until thickened. Serve over mashed potatoes.
