Guacamole is a classic appetizer that takes less than 10 minutes to prepare. I like to serve it as a quick appetizer for parties or as a side dish to go with any tex mex dinner. Just fresh vegetables and lime juice, this appetizer is the perfect dip for your favorite tortilla chips. You can even use this homemade guacamole on sandwiches or tacos instead of using it as a traditional chip dip.
Only six ingredients are needed, and all of the ingredients are fresh and healthy. All you need to make this guacamole is fresh avocados, a red onion, one roma tomato, cilantro, minced garlic and lime juice. The lime juice is added because the avocados will start to brown pretty fast, but the lime juice keeps it fresh longer. Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed, peel it and place the avocados into a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients into the bowl and using a potato masher or fork, mash all of the ingredients together until a smooth creamy mixture forms. Keep the guacamole refrigerated until serving or for up to 2-3 days. The guacamole may look brown, but it should return to green after it has been stirred.
