Tender and juicy baked breaded chicken served on hamburger buns makes the perfect chicken sandwich. Because this chicken is baked instead of fried, it makes it a healthier alternative to a classic fried chicken sandwich. The chicken still has all of the flavors from a fried chicken sandwich, with a seasoned flour breading. Serve topped with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, or any of your other favorite chicken sandwich toppings.
I used thinly sliced chicken for this, if using a thicker chicken, slice it in half and pound it with a mallet to flatten. To prepare the breading, egg and milk are combined in one shallow dish. And flour and seasonings are whisked together in another shallow dish. Bread the chicken first in the egg and milk mixture, then fully coat the chicken and seasoned flour mixture. Place each chicken onto a large greased baking sheet. Bake until the chicken is no longer pink. Serve on hamburger buns.
