Grinch Sugar Cookies

Soft and chewy sugar cookies made green with food coloring, and topped with a mini heart shaped sprinkle for the Grinch. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and the delicious sugar cookie flavors. They make the perfect easy treat to bake this Christmas season.

The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except for the addition of green food coloring. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove from the oven and top each one with a heart sprinkle.

Grinch Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • green food coloring
  • heart sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined.
  • Add in the food coloring and mix until it is fully green. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and top each one with a heart sprinkle.
