The cookie dough is started with a classic sugar cookie dough, except that it is colored green to represent the Grinch. Press the cookie dough into a greased square baking dish. Cover the top of the cookie bars with a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Bake until the center of the cookie bars comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
Grinch Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- green food coloring
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined.
- Add in the green food coloring and mix until it is fully green. Press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar with cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the cookie bars. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
