Grinch Oatmeal Cookies

Soft and chewy oatmeal cookies made green with food coloring and with a mini heart shaped sprinkle topped on each cookie. These easy chewy cookies make the perfect easy treat to bake for a fun Christmas or Grinch themed dessert this Christmas season.

The cookie dough is made like a classic oatmeal cookie dough, then green food coloring is mixed into the cookie dough. Use a cookie scoop to place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at bake until they are fully cooked through. Remove from the oven and top each one with a heart shaped sprinkle.

Grinch Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • green food coloring
  • heart sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined. Add in the food coloring and mix until it is fully green. Use a cookie scoop to place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven and top each one with a heart sprinkle.
