The cookie dough is so easy to make, it made like a classic sugar cookie dough, colored green with green food coloring. The cookie dough is refrigerated for at least one hour before baking to help keep the cookies from spreading out too much in the oven. You can also freeze the cookie dough and store them in an airtight container for up to three months. So you can have fresh baked cookies any time that you want. Before the cookies are baked, the dough is rolled into powdered sugar, to give them the crinkle look after they are baked. Place the cookie dough balls onto cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- green food coloring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda. In a large bowl using either a hand or stand mixer, beat softened butter with granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add in egg and vanilla extract, beat until smooth. Add the flour mixture in three separate additions, beating after each until all of the flour is incorporated. Add in green food coloring and mix until fully green. Cover and refrigerate cookie dough for at least one hour.
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Place powdered sugar into a shallow dish. Roll cookie dough into balls and fully coat in the powdered sugar. Place cookies onto ungreased baking sheets 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
