Gingerbread Heart Blossom Cookies

Soft and chewy classic soft gingerbread cookies topped with heart shaped chocolates. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and the delicious classic gingerbread flavors. These easy cookies make the perfect treat to bake this Valentine’s day.

The cookie dough is made similar to a soft gingerbread cookie dough. Roll the dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove from the oven and top each one with a heart chocolate.

Gingerbread Heart Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • chocolate hearts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar and molasses until smooth.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and top with chocolate hearts.
