The cookie dough is made like a classic shortbread cookie dough, except for the addition of Fourth of July themed sprinkles folded into the cookie dough. Roll the dough into balls and place onto a baking sheet. Bake until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly browned. Roll each cookie in a dish of powdered sugar.
Fourth of July Snowball Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Fourth of July sprinkles
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix butter with powdered sugar until smooth. Add in vanilla extract and flour and mix until combined. Fold in the sprinkles.
- Roll the dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Place powdered sugar into a shallow dish. Roll cookies into the sugar.
