Fourth of July Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Soft and chewy classic peanut butter cookie bars filled with Fourth of July themed sprinkles and chocolate chips. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookie bars and delicious peanut butter and chocolate flavors. They make the perfect treat to bake this summer.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic peanut butter cookie dough, except for the addition of Fourth of July themed sprinkles and chocolate chips mixed into the cookie dough. Press the cookie dough into a greased square baking dish. Bake until the center of the cookie bars comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Fourth of July Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fourth of July sprinkles
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the sprinkles and chocolate chips.
  • Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
