Football Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy classic chocolate chip cookies shaped and decorated to look like footballs. These easy and tasty cookies make a fun football themed or game day party. Each cookie is decorated with vanilla frosting to make them look like footballs. It is a fun and easy way to make football themed treat that everyone will love.

The cookie dough is made just like a classic chocolate chip cookie dough. Except instead of being rolled into balls, it is formed into oval shapes and placed onto a large baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with the frosting. Place the frosting into a piping bag, and decorate each cookie to make them look like footballs.

Football Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • vanilla frosting

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into ovals, and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool completely
  3. Place the frosting into a piping bag. Pipe frosting onto each cookie in a football pattern.
