Earth Day White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy sugar cookies filled with white chocolate chips, and made green and blue to create a fun Earth day themed treat. Everyone will love these easy and fun cookies this Earth day. The blue and green cookie dough make the cookies look like the earth.

The cookie dough is started similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, then half of the cookie dough is placed into another bowl, and mixed with green food coloring, add the blue food coloring to the other half of the cookie dough. White chocolate chips are mixed into each cookie dough. Then take small amounts of each cookie dough and roll them together into a ball. Place the cookies onto a baking sheet, and bake until they are fully cooked through.

Earth Day White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, divided
  • green and blue food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Divide half of the cookie dough into another bowl. Mix the green food coloring into one bowl, and the blue food coloring into the other bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to each cookie dough. Take a small amount of each cookie dough, and roll together into a ball. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
