Green bean casserole is one of the most classic and well loved side dishes on the holiday dinner table. But because the oven is usually already taken with the turkey and other casseroles, this classic green bean casserole is made in the crock-pot. It is still the same creamy green bean casserole with a crispy french fried onion topping that you remember. Preparing this casserole in the crock-pot is so easy to do, and it frees up space in the oven for the rest of your meal.

This green bean casserole is prepared just like the classic version. You don’t even need a bowl to mix the ingredients in, they get mixed right into the crock-pot to save on dishes. In a large greased crock-pot, mix the green beans with the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper and 1 can of the french fried onions. Cover the casserole with the lid and let cook on low heat for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours. To keep the french fried onions crispy, during the last hour of cooking, top the casserole with the remaining can of french fried onions.
