The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except that it is divided into two bowls, one is mixed with red food coloring and one with green. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.
Christmas Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- red and green food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined. Divide the cookie dough into two bowls. Mix red food coloring into one bowl and green into the other. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls.
- Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
