Soft and chewy sugar cookies for Christmas, rolled in red and green sanding sugars. Everyone will love these quick and easy fun cookies this holiday season. They have the classic soft and chewy sugar cookie texture and fun red and green colors. They make the perfect easy dessert that everyone will love baking.

The cookie dough is made just like a classic sugar cookie dough. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each cookie in either red or green sanding sugars. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red and green sanding sugars

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined. Place each sanding sugar into a shallow dish. Roll cookies into balls and roll in the sugars. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
